Hi! We are Zoe M, Riley T, and Audrey K
Zoe is a hard worker who loves to walk to the local farmers markets on Sundays. She is a 7th grader at Windward School. Zoe realized how wasted one-use plastic bags were. She realized that this is a major problem that needed solving. Though CA has banned one-use plastic bags in grocery stores, they still go unnoticed in farmers markets. The Mar Vista Farmers Market had been such a big part of Zoe's life and now she wants to help them and the environment. Riley is a vigilant 7th grader. For her CBL project, Riley wanted to go in the path of making farmers markets use less plastic bags, because she thoroughly enjoys going to farmers markets with her family, and supporting small businesses. The problem she continually sees is all the plastic bags. She had once gotten a drink and the vendors offered her plastic bags to put the drink in. She was wondering why the unnecessary use of plastic was needed. She saw several vendors keeping their goods in plastic bags, even things that were already packaged. She was continually offered to put the goods in a plastic bag. The vendors simply just don't have an alternative. She hopes to provide that alternative with her CBL group. Audrey is a passionate 7th grader who loves to help the environment. Audrey is a 7th grader who attends Windward School. She is invested in helping the environment because it keeps the world clean for future generations. When Audrey heard about the overuse of plastic, she knew she wanted to help, even if it was on a small scale. So, Audrey and her teammates have started to build a solution to the over use of plastic bags. She has been so immersed in the culture of farmers markets, and now she wanted to help them be more eco-friendly. |
